Samsung Galaxy A53 Receives January 2024 Security Update

In a recent development, the Samsung Galaxy A53 is now receiving the latest January 2024 security update, currently accessible in both Europe and the USA.

Following the release of the Android 14 update in the fourth quarter of the previous year, Samsung continues its commitment to enhancing device security.

The January 2024 security update for the Galaxy A53 comes with firmware version A536BXXS8DWL5 in Europe. The rollout is underway in several European countries, including Austria, Croatia, France, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and the UK.

There are indications that more European countries will soon join the list. The carrier-locked version of the Galaxy A53 is also eligible for the update, featuring firmware version A536USQS9DXA4.

To check for the new update, Galaxy A53 users in the mentioned countries can navigate to the Settings app on their devices, then proceed to Software update » Download and install. Alternatively, users can manually download the firmware file from the database and flash it using a computer running Windows OS and the Odin tool.

The January 2024 security patch addresses approximately 75 security vulnerabilities present in the previous software version, ensuring a more secure user experience. Notably, the Galaxy A53 received the Android 14 update just last month, having originally launched with Android 13 on board.
